Parking tickets!! and an exam!

Today I tried helping my patient get his parking ticket removed off the record. It did not work out. He drove around for a half hour trying to find it. I felt really bad that he couldn't find it. I will for sure make sure all my patients know. My exam went well. I did it in a good amount of time and only missed four or five spots. I think that's good... hope so. My goal for next time is to find a patient!!! I don't have one yet!!

Twoday!

Twoday I did a lot of class 2's. I was able to finish my first patient all in one appoinment. Then my second patient came back for three quads and I finished all of those. Great! I feel so much better than last year! I need three's, but I'm sure those will come. I plan on doing one of the exams at the VA then the rest at Weber. I hope I can find the patients. My goal for next time is to adapt the ultra sonic better, keep it moving. I think clinic is going great!

5 5 5 :)

TOday was a five day. All I did was fives. I made the mistake of not getting the patients medications before she came in and the health history took one and a half hours!!! HOly Cow!! I will never do that again. I got 4bwx and all four quads done. I wish I could have been faster. But it could have been worse. My goal is to always do as much of the health history before the patient comes in. I think I'm doing pretty well. I had a hard time working on the short patient because her head did not make it to the head rest even close. So i had to lean over way far to see anything. Her mobility was limited due to her age and stiffnes. I felt bad. She was sweet! My x rays went well!
I guess that's that!!

2nd Year Clinic Orientation day

Today was the first day back! We did not do cleanings, but we got reacquainted with the clinic. It felt a little weird working in people's mouths again. I hope I didn't hurt the girl I was working on. I'm excited for the semester. I think it will be a lot of fun to have a full year working on patients. HOpefully improving my skills every day. The first skill I would like to work on is probing fast and correctly. I would also like to work on making sure I feel the calculus before I remove it so I can be confident that it is gone. I am excited to learn from the faculty here. That's all for today!! Welcome back!!
